Kristyn Brownell, Communications
Kristyn Brownell is a communications strategist, multimedia designer, and digital accessibility expert with over ten years of experience serving nonprofit and state entities. She holds a Master’s degree in Interactive Media from Quinnipiac University’s School of Communications.
Rooted in that expertise, Kristyn specializes in designing accessible, user-centered digital experiences and translating WCAG standards into practical, human-centered design — teaching individuals and teams to approach accessibility as a mindset, not just a compliance checklist. Her work spans strategic communications, digital marketing strategy, and hands-on training for small businesses and teams across diverse sectors.
Kristyn currently supports statewide and national efforts to strengthen public engagement and storytelling around youth development and education. Her work emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and alignment with each organization’s mission and community impact. A critical thinker and problem solver, she has a talent for translating complex data and scenarios into clear, effective multimedia.
Ethan Brownell, Education
Ethan Brownell is a history teacher and civic leader from Pittsfield, Maine. He has taught history at Maine Central Institute for more than a decade, where he advises Model UN, Youth & Government, and Tabletop Gaming clubs. Recognized as Maine’s 2023 History Teacher of the Year, Ethan brings a deep commitment to education and community into both his classroom and his public service.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. He served as an instructional designer to the Maine Department of Education during the creation of Maine Online Open Education (MOOSE). Ethan was also selected as a delegate for the Maine Citizens’ Assembly on Education Priorities, where his voice will help shape educational policy across the state.
Ethan ran for the Maine House of Representatives in 2020 and for Maine State Senate District 3 in 2024. His campaigns focused on improving support for working families, including affordable childcare, healthcare access, and workers’ rights. He currently serves on the school board for MSAD 53.
